POSITION SUMMARY: The Fireplace & Chimney Professional is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of gas, pellet, and wood-burning appliances. This role supports our commitment to excellence by delivering high-quality craftsmanship, proactive communication, and customer education. Technicians progress through a structured career path from Apprentice to Master, with increasing responsibilities and technical complexity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform installations and services across all fuel types: gas, pellet, and wood
- Execute tasks ranging from basic horizontal terminations to complex lift-assisted installs and custom chase tops
- Diagnose and repair fireplace systems with attention to detail and safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and vehicles
- Communicate proactively with customers and team members
- Educate customers respectfully, guiding them through product use and maintenance
- Uphold company standards for quality, timeliness, and professionalism
- Participate in ongoing training and certification (e.g., NFI)
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team development
- Evaluate job profitability and complexity for strategic scheduling
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in varied conditions
- NFI certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience in HVAC, construction, or related trades a plus
